What can you do on the community page?

OVERVIEW:

  • Abstract Judges will review and score submitted abstracts ahead of the AMSA RMC event.

  • Judges can access their assigned abstracts and their submission ballot from April 14th 10AM CT— April 25th at 12:00PM CT.

  • You will receive two emails from the Abstract Review Platform, Submittable:

    • An email to setup your account email username and password [Between April 8th-April 9th]

    • An email with abstract platform overview information will be sent on April 11th. The formal review process will go from April 14th- April 25th. Ballots need to be complete by 12PM CT/1PM ET on April 25th so the notifications to students can be compiled.

  • April 30th- May 9th- Students will revise their abstracts and resubmit

  • May 14th- May 19th- Abstract Review of Student Revisions

    Abstract areas:

    In 2025, the program is focusing on the following general areas within the meat science discipline. Abstract submissions should fit into one or more of these categories. If you feel the abstract should be in a different category, please complete the rest of the review before making this recommendation.

Judging Criteria

Abstracts will be judged on the quality of the following aspects with a score of 1-5 with 5 being the best:

  • 5- Excellent (Accepted)

  • 4- Very Good (Accepted)

  • 3- Good, accepted with Minor Revisions

  • 2- Poor, accepted ONLY with Major Revisions

  • 1-Rejected

  • You should have received an email to your submission ballot

  • Below is a step by step process, please review to better understand the process behind judging the abstracts

  • Please complete all judging of submissions by April 25th at 11:59pm CT.

Step 1: create account

Create an account on the Submittable Portal. All Reviewers have been sent an email to setup your account email username and password. Check your spam/junk folder if the email isn’t in your main inbox.

Step 2: receive email

Receive Email and Click View Submissions to Open up Judging Portal

Step 3: review submission

Once Account is created, all submissions to review will be shown on home page above. Click on Submission # (ex.0002) to review submission

Step 4: click on review tab to start judging submission

Once Submission is selected, click on “Review” on upper right hand corner and “Complete Review” to start the judging

Step 5: review conflict of interest

•If you DO have a conflict of interest with applicant and/or institution please click YES then Submit Review. No Further Review is needed

•If you DO NOT have a conflict of interest with applicant and/or institution please click NO then Submit, then continue with the judging.

Step 6: rate abstract submission

After reviewing the submission please select a score from 1-5 based on the Criteria mentioned before

Step 7: provide abstract feedback

Any score of 3, 2, or 1, feedback is required.

Any score 4 or 5 feedback is not required, but encouraged.

After feedback is provided, please click Submit Review

Step 8: after submitting, move to next submission

After clicking Submit- Make sure right side feedback has been inputted(buttons have disappeared)

Click on the next arrow to move to next submission or ”Back to List” to go back to Home Page

Step 9: email confirmation

After reviewing all submissions, please double check all abstracts assigned to confirm all has been submitted.

Once you have completed judging please email a confirmation to kathrynn.phillippe@eposterboards.com
